Gina Fuentes Walker creates photo based installations in her studio, using available light and translucent materials such as glass, plexiglas, vellum and color transparencies. Images of trees and landscapes are printed on acetate, layered or cut-out as silhouettes to produce both large and small scale works that are mounted along walls and surfaces. Light filters through these translucent materials to create another layer or image that resembles abstract patterns and silhouettes of the natural world. Her work has been exhibited in AIM 24 at The Bronx Museum of the Arts and includes site-specific photo based and video installations for galleries in the U.S. and Germany. A recent collaboration with clothing designer Babatunde Ajiboye resulted in printing selections from her cut-outs series onto fabric for a commission of men and women's wear for the 2013 Chashama Gala in New York.
