I work with a pseudonym as a process based, metaphoric identity. I had been creating and exhibiting as scrapworm since August of 2001, with the alt name "sean wrenn" August 2010-December 2012 (née courtney); but S is enough, and most people call me scrap. This process identity connects me to collective entanglement within the allegory that we humans are winding paths through the collective composts of time, thought, matter, space, society, culture -- and the web-expanding metaphorical implications of such concepts. I create large-scale photographic collage works with a time-developed, distinctive paper layering technique. My collage process transforms recorded moments into immersive photomontage landscapes that are hand-constructed from photo-mechanically reproduced paper bits. I earned a Bachelor of Science from New York University, and an Master of Fine Arts from the Mount Royal School of Art, Maryland Institute College of Art. Public commissions include Flow.12's "Awakening Asylum," and I've been a participant in chashama programs since 2003.
