"Inconsistencias III: Homage II" Description: I work with a pack of paper sheets (folios) for computers. In the first part of the performance I put the half of the pack in the middle of the audience (in this case could be in the street in front of the window) and I make a repetitive gesture with paper sheets . In the second part I don't eat a Campbell tomato soup wearing a mask made of one of the sheets. while sounds in a cdplayer a song of Velvet Undergroud called "all tomorrow's parties". aixxx@wanadoo.es |

Artistic Director of Restless directs Drue Robinson Hagan's *Aristophanes' Lysistrata: A Woman's Translation* This fast and dirty cycle of readings capitalized on Hagan's naughty translation and Doctor Suess rhythms to stop unsuspecting pedestrians in their tracks. Designer Peter Ksander and Chashama's own Darryl Hell gave shape and sound to this afternoon romp for peace. |

Alec Duffy
Songs of Protest In response to the drums of war, director Alec Duffy gathered a number of downtown performers to sing anti-war protest songs of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger and others in the cozy Times Square window of chashama @135 W.42nd St. There, the performers sang to the passing public, playing characters that might not normally sing these songs -- the bank teller from Harrisonburg, Virginia, the high school track coach from Minnesota. This juxtaposition of protest songs from the mouths of these characters was both entertaining and provocative. |
