CURRICULUM VITAE 1995-99

Corpus Exquisitus (1999) A multi media project created by Patricia Fox and chashama co-founder, Tal Yarden. Produced with funding from The Greenwall Foundation and the Bessie Schönberg/First Light commissioning program of New York's Dance Theater Workshop with funds from the Jerome Foundation of St. Paul, MN. Co-produced with Dance Theater Workshop and performed in their garage at 219 West 19th St.

Deli Dances (1999) Twenty emerging choreographers performed their work in this free series. Curated by Despina Stamos. A chashama production at 111 W.42nd Street.

B 'n' G (1999) A workshop production loosely based on Blood and Guts in Highschool, the 1984 Kathy Acker novella.  The production was directed by Ian Belton and produced by chashama co-founder, Anita Durst at 111 West 42nd St.

Die Flasche ist Ganz Lehr (1999) A dance and theater production at Performance Space 122 at 150 1st Ave., based on Wagner’s Tannhauser. This project was created by DD Dorvillier and chashama co-founder Peter Jacobs with funding from the Jerome Foundation. A chashama co-production.

Baited Bar (1998) An original "drinking play" involving the concept of 'interactive booze', written and directed by Helena Durst, featuring Helena and Anita Durst. Performed at 111 W.42nd Street.

Cocaine (1998) A workshop production of an original play written and directed by Ian Belton and produced by chashama co-founder, Anita Durst at 135 W.42nd Street.

Early Morning Dances (1997) A series of seven site-specific performances throughout the New York City area, each beginning at dawn and lasting for one hour in such locations as the Staten Island Ferry, the Fulton Street Fish Market, Central Park, and Coney Island. Created by Julie Atlas Muz. A chashama production.

The Non-Cabaret (September 19, 26, & October 3, 1997) Part of the P-358 festival, this is an avant-garde free-form cabaret curated by director Ian Belton at 135 W.42nd Street that included music, film, spoken word, song and dance.

Free Lunchtime Performances (September 15 - October 3, 1997) Part of the P-358 festival, this precursor to OASIS is a series of music, dance and performance art free to the public weekdays at noon. Artists included: Juliana Francis, Andy Rus, Caterina Bartha and Despina Stamos. A chashama production at 135 W.42nd Street.

Blood Flood (September 8 - October 8, 1997) Another part of the chashama P-358 fall festival about the famed countess from Transylvania, Emma Bathory, performed by Nell Stewart.  Directed by Ian Belton.  A chashama production at 135 W.42nd Street.

Grey Language (September 4 - October 5, 1997) A site-specific theater production and part of the chashama P-358 fall festival that examined Reich’s theory of the individual in the context of an internet generation.  Performed at the former Herman’s Sporting Goods store at 135 West 42nd Street in Times Square. Directed by Lindsay Bishop and produced by Anita Durst with set design by Michael Casselli. A chashama production.

Selftyness (1997) An exploration of the boundary lines between audience and performer. Eight women exploring imagery written by Solar Abdoh and Helena Durst, and directed by Anita Durst. At 135 W.42nd Street.

Disease Machine (1996) A workshop production of an original play based on Moliere’s The Imaginary Invalid, originally performed at Context Studios at 28 Ave. A. This piece was developed for production in a TV Studio and is still under development. Directed by Tal Yarden and produced by chashama co-founder, Anita Durst.

Junior Black’s Office (September 20 - October 8, 1995) A theater project in 25 windows of the 40 Worth Street office building which was viewed from a sidewalk across the street and heard over battery-operated radios via mobile transmitter. Designed and produced by chashama co-founder, Tal Yarden. Funding was provided by The Durst Foundation, Art Matters, ONSITE/Dancing in the Streets and Newmark & Co. A chashama production.
