"Joy Of Life" (December 19, 2001-January 10, 2002)  An exhibit of photographs by Japanese artist Takashi Owaki in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

Pandora’s Last Christmas (December 19-22, 2001) A new play by Che Costello, directed by Tony Torn at 129 W.42nd Street.

The blind eye projects on Broadway (December 11, 2001-February 11, 2002) A mixed media installation by Scott Holmquist in the display window of 125 W.42nd Street.

The Bridge (December 3, 2001)  A webcast people’s forum of community interests moderated by Errol Gardner and Ryme Katkhouda of WBIX.org (WBAI-in-exile) and audio-video artist Darryl Hell. At 135 W.42nd Street.

It’s A Kid’s World  (December 1-22, 2001)  Described as "A Black Christmas Carol"   workshop, directed by Titus Walker of the Ujamaa Black Theater. Saturdays at 129 W.42nd Street.

Center Around The Margin  (November 29-December 23, 2001) A festival of short plays from the Circle East theater company at 111 W.42nd Street.

Desk  (November 29, 2001-January 16, 2002) Two-person play written and performed by Aaron Landsman. Directed by Tory Vasquez in the 2nd floor lobby of 135 W.42nd Street.

Kundalini Komedy Sells Out  (November 29-December 15, 2001) Comedy sketches and improvisations by Kundalini Komedy, performed at 129 W.42nd Street.

The Indian Wants The Bronx and It’s Called The Sugar Plum (November 28-December 8, 2001)  Two plays by Israel Horowitz, directed by Mimi McGurl at 125 W.42nd Street.

Mrs. Feuerstein (November 27, 2001-January 13, 2002)  A post-Holocaust play by Murray Mednick, directed by Roxanne Rogers at 135 W.42nd Street.

Here and Now Sculptures  (November 27-Decemver 18, 2001) An exhibition of wood sculptures by Jose Landoni in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

The Shady Maids of Haiti  (November 17, 2001)  A new play written and directed by John Jahnke at 111 W.42nd Street.

Harvest  (November 13-23, 2001) An installation themed to Thanksgiving by artist David Gassaway, aka Daupo in the display window of 135 W.42nd Street, with a performance on the 23rd.

Zero Mark Zero: Dr Dappertutto and the Submarine Incident (November 2-17, 2001)  Directed and produced by Joe Silovsky at 129 W.42nd Street.

The Soapbox Syndrome (November 1-18, 2001) A modern-day interpretation of the biblical story of Rachel and Leah, written and directed by Jenirose Friedkin at 111 W.42nd Street.

EYE (November 1-11, 2001) A shared evening of new works by choreographers Catherine Hourihan and Rachel Germond at 111 W.42nd Street.

For The Love Of A Black Woman  (October 27, 2001) An original play directed by Titus Walker with the Ujamaa Black Theater at 111 W.42nd Street.

The Witch of Edmonton  (October 25-November 18, 2001) A musical adaptation by Rosy Hay and Rudy Caporaso, inspired by the Puritan witch trials. Directed by Rosey Hay at 135 W.42nd Street.

NYC Exposed (October 19-November 2, 2001)  An installation of multi-exposure photography by Andrew Hammer in the lobby of 125 W.42nd Street.

To Be A Black Man In America  (October 19-20, 2001) An original play directed by Titus Walker with the Ujamaa Black Theater at 111 W.42nd Street.

Happy Hour  (October 18-November 3, 2001)  A three-man clown show by Ambrose Martos, Mark Gindick and Matt Morgan. Performed at 125 W.42nd Street.

Imitating The Bei Wei Buddha  (October 18-24, 2001) An installation and performance by Hong Kong performance artist Pan Xing Lei in the display window of 135 W.42nd Street.

Metal Works, Photography, Furniture  (October 20-November 18, 2001) An exhibit by Veronica Evanega in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

In My Father’s Eyes  (October 9, 2001) A one-night showing of a play written by John Anastasi and directed by Mitch Poulos at 135 W.42nd Street.

new works  (September 21-October 1, 2001) An exhibit of calligraphic drawings by Japanese artist Tomoko Terashita in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

POTOTO  (October 2-17, 2001)  An exhibit of mixed media paintings by Manuel Infante in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

Frank Robbins workshop  (September 14, 2001) A one-night workshop of a new play directed by Frank Robbins and performed at 129 W.42nd Street.

Evening Readings  (September 9-November 18, 2001) Readings of short works, held Sundays and Mondays by the Circle East Theater company at 125 W.42nd Street.

The World of The P-Cult  (September 7, 2001) A theatrical fireshow directed by Chris Flambeaux performed for Fashion Week at 135 W.42nd Street.

Triggers  (September 7-October 6, 2001) An audio/visual jukebox installation by Benton C. Bainbridge in the display window of 125 W.42nd Street.

House  (August 30-31, 2001)  Written and directed by Richard Maxwell. Performed at 135 W.42nd Street prior to international tour.

Street Math  (August 20, 2001- current) George Nobl’s soapbox sideshow of math problems and, for those who solve them, a reward of a Snickers bar. Originally on Mondays, now on Wednesdays at around noon, weather permitting, on the sidewalk in front of 135 W.42nd St.

Write To Me!  (August 17-25, 2001) A new play based on real letters written to a women’s fitness magazine. Directed by David Lloyd Rabig at 129 W.42nd Street.

Tumor Brainiowicz a work in progress (August 17-19, 2001) A new translation of Stanislaw Witkiewicz’s 1930's Polish Avant-Garde drama about the life and times of Mathematician Georg Cantor—the man who undermined the mathematics of his day by proving infinity.  Directed by Brooke O'Hara. Produced by the Theatre of The Two-Headed Calf. Performed at 111 W.42nd Street.

Hot! Hot! Hot! (August 16-26, 2001) Two weeks of new short plays in rep produced by Circle East at 135 W.42nd Street.

August Window  (August 12-28, 2001) A festival of music, dance and theater performed in the display window of 135 W.42nd Street. Directed by DeLoss Brown, David Lloyd Rabig & Sherise Janel Pruitt. Produced by Alex Linsker and the Publicity Tree Corporation.

Exaltations  (August 8-30, 2001)  An exhibition of paintings by Sholto Ainslie in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

Mysterious Ways  (August 7, 2001) A one-night reading of a play by Matt Toronto at 135 W.42nd Street.

Yo Yo Homo (August 2-12, 2001) Two weeks of short new gay plays in rep produced by Circle East at 135 W.42nd Street.

I Just Wanna Know Your Art  (July 20-22, 2001) A shared evening of dance and performance by emerging artists Beth Portnoy and Keisha Knight at 135 W.42nd Street.

“re-vasion of the micro podz”  (July 17-18, 2001)  A two-night extravaganza of analog and digital electronica featuring 36 music and video stylists coming together through David Linton’s AV collective, “UnityGain”. At 135 W.42nd Street.

Come Closer  (July 10-August 2, 2001)  An exhibition of wood sculpture by Ophir Agassi in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

The Seagull  (July 7-21, 2001) A Taxidermy Theater installation of Chekhov’s play by Andrew Kromelow, produced by The Little Red Theater at 129 W.42nd Street.

Garvey and Superpant$! Episode #23 (June 29-July 21, 2001) A very large original play in a very small space directed by Yehuda Duenyas & NTUSA. Co-produced with The National Theatre of the United States at 111 W.42nd Street.

School For Salomés (June 27-July 14, 2001) Directed by Yelena Gluzman. A work-in-progress. Performed at 135 W.42nd Street.

Mp3 Ecstasy (June 20-23, 2001) A Launch Press Release Performance of Breakthrough Technologies in the storefront window of 135 for new internet radio station MusicOrgy.com. Live music, video and performance directed by Darryl Hell. Produced by Music Orgy.

Him (June 20-24, 2001) Shana Gozansky’s interpretation of the e.e. cummings play. Awarded the Oberus Tertius Award for Young Directors. Performed at 111 W.42nd Street.

Kissy Boy (June 8, 2001) A window performance by Michael Portnoy at 135 W.42nd Street.

Gaining Voice & Other Works (June 7-17, 2001) An evening of original dance by Jenny Rocha. Produced by Rocha Dance Theater. Performed at 135 W.42nd Street.

Paintings, Photographs, Performances  (June 5-July 6, 2001) A mixed media exhibit by Janusz Jaworski in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

Your Name Here  (May 30-June 3, 2001) An original production directed by Ed Roland, Kelly Smith, Joe Mortimer & Laura Poe. Documentary by Rolf Gibbs. A mixed media piece revolving around the funeral industry, exploring why it costs about 10 grand to bury your loved ones. Window installation includes movable puppets (a la Macy’s) set in funeral related scenarios, all at 135 W.42nd Street.

One Year Lease fundraiser  (May 7, 2001) A fundraising auction for the One Year Lease theater company. Organized by Jackie Cristal. Held at 135 W.42nd Street.

Hot Caviar Dogs  (May 6-19, 2001) A sculpture installation by South African artist Samson Mnisi in the main theater space of 135 W.42nd Street. Curated by Cannon Hersey of the CrossPathCulture arts organization.

A Dog and Pony Show (May 3-19, 2001) Created and directed by Patricia Fox and Tal Yarden.  An original absurdist meditation on the pointlessness of attributing guilt. This deconstruction of the Book of Job explores traditional views of responsibility and blame as Job’s material world and physical condition collapse. A chashama co-production at 111 W.42nd Street.

Transparence (April 30-May 4, 2001) This week long window performance by Dan McKereghan explored the visible and invisible with layers of paint and performance. At 135 W.42nd Street.

Untitled  (April 16-30, 2001) An exhibition of mixed-media drawings by Atsushi Ohashi of Japan in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

We Speak Comedy (Wednesdays in April 2001) Stand up, skits and open mike.  Co-produced by Randi Pannell, at 135 W.42nd Street.

Untitled  (April 2-16, 2001) An exhibition of paintings by Jose Guajardo Flores of Argentina in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

Untitled (March 16-April 16, 2001)  An exhibition of paintings and drawings by Gabriella Herrera in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

Untitled  (March 12-April 1, 2001) An exhibition of paintings and drawings by Jasun Martz in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

EXUDE  (March 1-15, 2001)  An exhibition of oils, watercolors and pastels by Adrian Leath in the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

Resistance (February 28-March 11, 2001) The English language premier of the Living Theater’s inaugural production of the company’s new European Headquarters, the Centro Living Europa in Rocchetta Ligure, Italy. Directed by Judith Malina and Hanon Reznikov, the play tells the story of the remarkable resistance of this small mountain town to the German occupation of 1943-5. US premier at 111 West 42nd Street. Co-produced with the Living Theater.

SafeSpace Circus Class  (February 27-September 18, 2001) An outreach program of circus arts taught to homeless youth by counselors of intervention organization SafeSpace, Tuesday mornings at 135 W.42nd Street.

Kitty Boots fashion show  (February 11, 2001) Held at 111 W.42nd Street.

Blank Box (February-April 2001) A display window installation festival including 36 independent artists at 135 W.42nd Street.  Curated by Laura Barnett.

Funbox (February 2-April 29, 2001, Fridays through Sundays) A lightning fast, post millennium amusement park ride; actors sweep the audience through the primeval experiences of one's life journey—from life to death.  A co-production with Faux-Real Theater Company at 135 W.42nd Street.

Oasis - a free festival of experimental art in Times Square (January 29-April 26, 2001, Mondays through Thursdays) Mondays highlighted theater reading curated by Circle East, Tuesdays featured Dance & Performance Art, Wednesdays hosted film screening and Thursdays presented Experimental Music. Each performance was prefaced by a storefront window performance. A chashama production at 135 W.42nd Street.

The Story of Rats (January 17–February 3, 2001) Inspired by the works of George Bataille, adapted by Doris Mirescu with Dion Doulis and Erika Latta, directed by Doris Mirescu. Co-produced by The Wax Factory. Performed at 111 W.42nd Street.

drawings & things  (January 16-February 28, 2001) An installation of found art with alterations by artist David Gassaway, aka Daupo. In the lobby gallery of 135 W.42nd Street.

Maya In Plane Movement  (January 5-14, 2001) A video installation created in collaboration by Maya Ciarrocchi and Andrew Sroka in the display window of 135 W.42nd Street
