Interior of display window at 135 W 42 St. is painted gloss white. 228 foam bricks, 8" wide x 12" long x 4" thick, painted gold, are stacked in the west end of window. The stack measures 32" wide x 36" long x 76" tall. One at a time, the bricks are moved to the east end of the window, forming a new stack. When this is completed (midday Wednesday), the bricks are then returned, one at a time, to their original position. Action is continuous without breaks, nine hours a day for five days.

Text -
moving without brick:

It's too much of a task,
It's too much of a task,
It's too much of a task for a man to take,
It's too much of a task for a man to take.

picking up brick:

Be careful, be careful, be careful, be careful, be careful.
It's heavy, it's heavy, it's heavy.

moving with brick:

I'm never gonna finish this job,
I'm never gonna finish this job.
What a fate, what a fate.

putting brick down:

Don't drop it, don't drop it, don't drop it, don't drop it.
