INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM:
Traditional fairy tales retold in non-traditional ways, presented by a cast of performers from NYC, along with an ensemble cast of performers from the countries of Eastern Europe, (not to mention some innocent bystanders). We strive to increase awareness of global issues through collaborative, artistic action. chashama, inc. is a non-profit arts organization begun in 1995. Since opening, chashama has utilized vacant commercial buildings, transforming them into multi-arts complexes and filling them with art of all genres while drawing increasingly diverse audiences. chashama has produced and presented over 210 productions, 11 festivals and provided assistance to over 4,000 artists. chashama has recently moved from five multi-arts complexes on 42nd Street all featuring gallery, office, studio rehearsal and performance space to a new venue on the East Side, 217 E.42nd St., where we continue to produce and present original, imaginative work with energetic and inspired artists. chashama has also added the third floor of the Food Court at 234 W.42nd Street and two floors at 40 Worth Street to their roster of venues. Be Here Three e.Europe TOUR will fulfill both companies' missions by bringing cutting edge, risky, yet accessible theatre into the public realm, making it more commonplace to be sensational. We will encourage artists to take the stand and use their voices for social change in order to increase global and community awareness.
