In the off-season, from November through March, the residency space is available for group gatherings, retreats, workshops, as well as individuals seeking an independent live/work residency. The communal kitchen is available for use, though it is not stocked and residents provide their own food.

chaNorth has been home to creations by writers, choreographers, illustrators, painters, installation artists, digital artists, photographers, filmmakers, musicians, performance artists and theater artists.  During the winter, artists are afforded the solitude required for independent work. The site is surrounded by open spaces containing fields and forest lanscapes. Those who find inspiration in the outdoors are encouraged to come enjoy the snow-covered surroundings.
