Ahlien Z.H.(HSU Tsui-lien, Zheng Hé) was born in 1956 in the Southen county of Taiwan. She is currently based in both Taipei and Kaohsiung.

In 1977, Ahlien graduated from Minchuan College in Taipei, majoring in graphic design. From 1979-2002, she worked as a street photographer, literary illustrator, chief editor of graphic design and designer/manager of fine arts material for various newspapers and magazines. Performance credits include festivals in Hungary, Japan, Korea, No. Ireland, Philippines, Poland, Quebec, and Slovakia. In 2003, Ahlien founded Test Motion Taiwan International Performance Art Festival in Taipei.
