ANDREW HAMPSAS has been performing since 1992. His solo work has
been seen at PS 122, H.E.R.E., Nada, CBGB, Click+Drag, SMack,
multiple venues in the pre-hip and still-under-the radar
Williamsburg, the Lollapalooza Tour, and the usual suspect music
venues, nightclubs, and art galleries. He has also performed in
the foreign nations of Germany and Texas. He has collaborated with
groups such as Hit & Run Theatre, Dar A Luz, Collective Unconscious,
Sideshows By The Seashore, Medical Misdemeanors, IFAM, Circus
Redickuless, Earthstunned Angels, Sinners Sideshow, and Arena
Productions. Acting credits include the Fassbinder play "Bremen
Freedom," the live serial "Manifestations," and the film
"Platypussy." Past affiliations with Chashama include solo readings,
a role in Lindsay Bishop's "Grey Language," and script writing for
the P-Cult and Dar A Luz.
SEIKA has been a classical musician since the age of 4, in her native
land of Japan. She has performed extensively as a solo oboist and as
an orchestra member. She is a graduate of the Toho Gakuen School Of
Music, where she also studied theatre.
Andrew and Seika have been performing their own brand of
transgressive physical theatre together since 2001, with multiple
appearances at The Black Party, The Black&Blue Ball, RubberCat, The
Hustler Ball, Pork, and at venues such as Webster Hall, Spirit, and
Roseland.
