Allan T. Gilmore bought his first 35-mm camera aboard ship in the United States Navy, and has worked as a free-lance photographer in Washington, D.C; Houston, Texas; New York City; and East Africa.

Gilmore has worked for the International Center of Photography since 1993, and has been exhibiting in New York since 2002. His work has been published by The Houston Chronicle, Newsday, the periodicals of Actors Equity, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the American Guild of Musical Artists, and the Screen Actors Guild.

His work has been primarily exhibited in New York and Washington D.C., and is in the permanent collections of the International Center of Photography, Grand Central Neighborhood, the New York City Fire Department—Engine 65, and the Cornell Capa collection.

In addition to his fine art photography, Gilmore is also a portrait photographer, and has taken photographs of President Bill Clinton, photographer Gordon Parks, playwright Edward Albee, and other cultural luminaries.

All of the photographs in this exhibit are made from Kodachrome 64 originals. No digital effects were used.
