About the Artists
Donna Kessinger is an independent curator and the manager of the Matawan Studio space. To set up an appointment to view the space, email donna@chashama.org

Kortez Robinson, a fine artist residing in Freehold, NJ, has been a DJ since 1984. His love of music transcends genres, but is rooted in Soul and House music. As a visual artist, he uses mixed media collage, acrylic, and watercolor, and works with paper, wood, and found objects. Exhibiting vibrant colors, intentional shapes, and provocative topics, Kortez's subject matter comes through vividly using bright colors and bold lines. DJ Kortez most often plays at clubs, but also enjoys playing art functions, store events and in other alternative venues. "There is a freedom that comes when you aren't pressured to keep people on the dance floor". DJ Kortez states that those moments are his favorites as a DJ; when he is able to take guests on a more cerebral journey.
