“Peace is not just the absence of a storm, but respite in the middle of the storm. It is the kind of peace that one cannot find in today’s headlines or TV’s sensationalized news. The media has grabbed our attention with new dangers and our hearts struggle with new anxieties about the future of America. Many of us wish for that kind of peace right now. It is my hope that each one of my lyrical brushstrokes develops a rhythm and strikes an emotional chord in the viewer. These are my visual mantras for peace in the world.”--Carolynne Fromme

About the Artist
Carolynne Fromme is an artist who has lived in Manhattan most of her life. Since she was 15, she was naturally drawn to abstract expressionism. Carolynne finds inspiration in the various ways that movement is created through interacting color, light, forms and lines. Her approach to painting is done in a direct manner with vibrant colors, and bold painterly brush strokes. At the center of her creative process is exploring the physical relationships of landscapes to the spiritual and discovering how they alter our sense of identity.
Carolynne trained in Fine Art at SUNY at Oneonta and at NYU–Masters Studies: Fine Arts and Digital Imaging and Design. She also studied at the Art Students League, and the National Academy School and Museum. She is a member of the National Association of Women Artists, Women in the Arts, and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
