Referencing pop culture and theories of shared memory, BEAT IT is an open performance / rehearsal that will teach the choreography from the 1983 smash hit. Through this process the existing cultural memory of the song will be strengthened and expanded on. The weeklong performance will culminate with a grand finale on July 4th at 2p, when all participants will be asked back to perform one last time, together. All interested parties are welcome and encouraged to be a part of this project.
