DEAD GENIUS PRODUCTIONS
"A Day Such as Today at the Pavilion"

This is new work of dance-theater draws from a palette of source material ranging from 19th-century ornithology to the meta-naturalism of contemporary visual art. Through a stylized combination of movement, text, and song, A Day Such as Today at the Pavilion depicts a not-so-distant moment, when people no longer remember what animals were, but are left only with twisted representations.

Sunday, July 15, 3-4p & 5-6p:

BONE ORCHARD
"Day Lights the Bone"

A world premiere of Day Lights the Bone is a meditation on the varying rhythms of New York featuring 30+ performers, who'll weave in and amidst the spectators as they play out the pulse of the city…

Sunday, July 22, 3-4p & 5-6p:

C. EULE DANCE
"Flight of Fantasy"

C. Eule Dance's Flight of Fantasy is about the life-cycle of a butterfly as a symbol of the human potential for metamorphosis and personal discovery. The audience will be seated in Red Shade Plaza while viewing a larger-than-life butterfly transformation enacted by four dancers who will emerge through the bushes as caterpillars and reenact an abstract life-cycle of a butterfly through modern dance.

Sunday, July 29, 3-4p & 5-6p:

SARAH STERN
"Change of Address"

Director Sarah Stern presents Change of Address, a new piece that seeks to evoke the evolution of the Red Shade Plaza site itself. Part performance and part installation, Change of Address invites us to think about what the land in Riverside Park was before the present moment, and how the stories we construct about our own lives intersect with the histories of the places we inhabit.
