"Breathe Deep NYC No Charge" is 16 minutes in duration. It will be screened every hour, on the hour.

Influenced by Fred Friendly and Marshall McLuhan, Richard Rubinstein (www.newamsterdamnyc.com) began documenting on videotape events rarely covered by conventional media. This video, made in September of 1972 with the first generation of handheld Sony video cameras, follows Gordon Matta-Clark along with Ed Baynard, Ted Greenwald, Jan Hodenfield, Peter Levy and Ginger J. Walker on the streets of New York City with a cart made by Matta-Clark loaded with canisters of "fresh air." People were invited to try the fresh air free of charge.

chashama is a non-profit arts organization that provides opportunities for performing and visual artists. We support the development of art by awarding grants, producing shows and providing subsidized studio, rehearsal and performance space. Since 1995, we have provided artists with a home and the support resources necessary to presentand create art that engages the community of New York.
