chashama supports active youth-outreach activities by providing programs with safe, free space to teach, mentor and transform young lives.
Currently, we work with:
Reconstruct Art: chashama has championed the work of Reconstruct Art, a grassroots 501(c) 3 nonprofit which serves disenfranchised youth through the creative arts, since 2005 by providing studio and gallery space to their program.
Doing Art Together: chashama supports DAT, a non-profit arts education organization that provides hands-on programs to under-served audiences. DAT's programs build skills that enhance the ability to learn and are easily transferred from the classroom to life.
NUTUREart: chashama has provided exhibition space to the participants of NUTUREart’s education outreach program. NURTUREart brings contemporary art to students at underserved New York City schools. Education outreach projects have included exhibitions of student artwork, student-curated exhibitions, visits to artists' studios, and lectures in public schools. The unique synergy of NURTUREart's programs generates a supportive environment for curatorial experimentation and exposure to new art.
Adarsh Alphons Projects: chashama also supports the work of AAP whose purpose is to provide a place to instruct and explore the technical and critical aspects of visual art for students ages 10-18.
chashama believes that art can change the path of anyone’s life, and we hope to continue to give space to groups who share our passion to support our young people.
