From the artist's statement November 21, 2004:

I'm exploring beauty and pleasure in painting
I'm also thinking.

I've found that thought is not necessarily consumed by beauty, nor beauty consumed by thought.

I've been thinking about time.

I've been working with water and gouache on paper.

The paintings are about color, space, line and shape.

They are about the experience of painting.

They are about the materials they are made of.

They are the moment they are made.

They are about

place

origin

America

counting

death

hope

They are thought and pleasure.
